About Us

Hannah Gastineau is a Lipscomb graduate with a Bachelor's degree in English who specializes in writing and editing.  Hannah currently works at Smyrna Christian School, continuing to give love and to teach children about God's love. Hannah first visited Jovenes en Camino in June of 2009 with her church brigade, Smyrna Church of Christ. This trip lit her spark of desire for the Honduran people, and most specifically, the boys of Jovenes en Camino. Since her first visit, she has returned other brigade trips, spent the summer of 2012 at Jovenes, and is planning a return visit for winter of 2012/2013. Love is one of the most important lessons she learned from the boys. God has been her contractor and continues to lead her into the path of missions. Hannah plans on making Jovenes a big part of her life, and would love to see her relationships with the boys and staff of Jovenes grow and flourish. Hannah and LauraBeth have been the best of friends since middle school (or earlier) and continue become greater friends every day.  They have been on several mission trips together (including mission trips to locations other than Jovenes) and have seen each others love for missions grow as they grew older.

LauraBeth Burgess is a senior nutrition major with a minor in Spanish at Lipscomb University. Laura is currently working at Harding Acadamy for her fourth year while finishing up her classes. Laura first visited Jovenes in June of 2010 with her church brigade, Smyrna Church of Christ. This trip has not stopped Laura. Since then, she has not missed a trip to Honduras. Her love of the people and the language continues to grow with each trip. She also, spent the summer of 2012 at Jovenes with Hannah Gastineau and is also returning winter of 2012/2013. Laura is excited to see how God uses her and her talents for the world and for the boys at Jovenes.
